Care
Light. Bright, indirect light. Variegated tissue carries less chlorophyll and scorches more easily than green, so filter strong sun.
Water and humidity. Keep the substrate evenly moist, never wet. Aim for 60% humidity or higher.
Feeding. A balanced feed programme through spring and summer; ease off in winter.
Dormancy. An Alocasia that drops its leaves in the cold is usually resting, not dead. Keep it warm and barely moist and it will push again.

Alocasia Longiloba 'Mint Variegated'
Looking for Alocasia Longiloba 'Mint Variegated'? Mint variegation remains one of the rarest and most quietly compelling expressions in the Alocasia collector hobby, and on Alocasia longiloba, a species already well regarded for its bold silver-veined foliage, the effect is genuinely distinct.
Where albo variegation commands attention through stark contrast, and pink through warmth and drama, mint sits in its own lane entirely. The soft, cool green-white colouration that characterises mint expression brings a subtlety that rewards the eye the longer you look. On Longiloba 'Mint Variegated', these pale mint sectors appear across the deep green blade alongside the species' signature serpentine silver venation, two layers of patterning working together on a leaf form that is already one of the more elegant in the genus. The result is a plant that feels considered and rare in equal measure.
Alocasia longiloba is a vigorous and rewarding grower, and the mint form retains that robust character. Bright indirect light will keep both the mint variegation and the venation contrast at their most vivid. Reduce the light and the distinction between the mint sectors and the base green can flatten noticeably. High humidity and consistent warmth will support steady, confident growth. A gentle balanced feed programme through the growing season will help this plant produce the large, well-marked foliage it is capable of at its best.
All plants are grown in Fluval Stratum, our preferred early-stage medium for corms and baby Alocasia, held in our 3D printed Corm Keeper stand. Once fully rooted and at juvenile size we repot into our own pon mix, blended from components in our Soil Ninja range.
