What collectors say

The mystery rehab box was better than I hoped it would be. Some absolute beautiful Alocasia in there and some new ones to add to my collection that were perhaps a bit out of my price range to buy on their own. Will definitely be on the lookout for more of these boxes, opening it genuinely left me feeling like a kid on Christmas morning.

Light. Bright, indirect light. Variegated tissue carries less chlorophyll and scorches more easily than green, so filter strong sun.

Water and humidity. Keep the substrate evenly moist, never wet. Aim for 60% humidity or higher.

Feeding. A balanced feed programme through spring and summer; ease off in winter.

Dormancy. An Alocasia that drops its leaves in the cold is usually resting, not dead. Keep it warm and barely moist and it will push again.

Delivery and arrival

Plants are dispatched Monday to Thursday only, so they never sit in a depot over a weekend. Every order is sent with a heat pack and packed plastic-free.

Free UK delivery on orders over £75. Unpack on arrival and give your plant a few days of steady conditions to acclimatise.

Every plant is covered by our 7-day live arrival guarantee. If there's a problem, email sales@thealocasiacompany.co.uk within 7 days of delivery with your order number and clear photos. Please don't repot in those first 7 days, as repotting voids the guarantee.

Pet safety

Like all aroids, this plant contains insoluble calcium oxalate crystals and is toxic if eaten. Keep it out of reach of cats, dogs and children.

About this cultivar

BAGINDA 'SILVER DRAGON' ALBO VARIEGATED

Alocasia Silver Dragon Albo: Silvery Quilted Foliage with Albo Sectoring

Looking for the Alocasia Silver Dragon Albo? This is the rare chimeric albo-variegated form of Alocasia baginda 'Silver Dragon', long valued for its powdery silver foliage and dark veining, here carrying cream and white sectoring across an already well-established cultivar.

Silver Foliage Meets Chimeric Albo Variegation

'Silver Dragon' carries the same heavily quilted, reptilian leaf texture as its sibling cultivar 'Dragon Scale', but with a cool, silvery-mint base that glows almost lunar in the right light. The albo variegation overlays cream and white chimeric sectoring across that silvered surface, producing a striking, almost ghostly effect. As with all albo cultivars, variegation is generated at the meristem and reversion is always a possibility.

Care and Establishment

'Silver Dragon' is compact and well-suited to cabinet or shelf display. Bright, filtered light and humidity comfortably above 60% are the foundations. Variegated sectors are more vulnerable to scorch, so filtered light is non-negotiable. A gentle balanced feed programme during active growth supports leaf production. Stable warmth keeps growth consistent and reduces dormancy risk.

All plants are grown in Fluval Stratum, our preferred early-stage medium for corms and baby Alocasia, held in our 3D printed Corm Keeper stand. Once fully rooted and at juvenile size we repot into our own pon mix, blended from components in our Soil Ninja range.
