Care
Light. Bright, indirect light. Variegated tissue carries less chlorophyll and scorches more easily than green, so filter strong sun.
Water and humidity. Keep the substrate evenly moist, never wet. Aim for 60% humidity or higher.
Feeding. A balanced feed programme through spring and summer; ease off in winter.
Dormancy. An Alocasia that drops its leaves in the cold is usually resting, not dead. Keep it warm and barely moist and it will push again.

This medium-sized Alocasia cultivar holds the attention of serious growers for its unusual texture, offering both botanical interest and lasting collector appeal. A Considered Display for Rare Plant Collections
Suited to collectors looking for something genuinely uncommon, this cultivar reaches a mature height of 2 to 3 feet, which keeps it workable in curated collections and display groupings. The Dragon Scale's textured foliage and moderate size make it one of the more distinctive rare Alocasia to grow.
All plants are grown in Fluval Stratum, our preferred early-stage medium for corms and baby Alocasia, held in our 3D printed Corm Keeper stand. Once fully rooted and at juvenile size we repot into our own pon mix, blended from components in our Soil Ninja range.
