Plant Description
Looking for the Alocasia longiloba Black 'Satun Stardust'? This is one of the most unusual pink expressions we have ever offered: not sectors, not splashes, but a fine mist of rose speckling scattered across the blade like dust caught in the light. It is exactly the kind of oddity that gives a collection its character, and it very rarely surfaces in the UK.
Written in Stardust
Longiloba carries one of the most elegant silhouettes in the genus, a long, narrow arrowhead blade with gently scalloped margins and crisp, pale veining. 'Satun Stardust' takes that refined shape and covers it in something extraordinary. Dense pink stippling drifts across the deep green ground, in places so fine it reads as a rose-coloured sheen, with creamy flecks threaded through. Against that dark backdrop the pale veins stand out sharply, framing the speckling rather than competing with it.
This stardust-type speckle variegation lands differently on every leaf, so each of the four plants in this release carries its own pattern, and no two are alike. Pick your plant on this page and the one you choose is the one that arrives.
How We Grow Them
Rooted into Fluval Stratum at the nursery, then transitioned into our own pon mix, blended using the Soil Ninja range, and grown on towards maturity. Every plant is fully UK-acclimatised and ships established in its pot with pon included, so there is nothing to do on arrival.
Care and Positioning
Bright, indirect light keeps the speckling vivid and the veining crisp. Aim for humidity of 60% or higher, keep the plant in the free-draining mineral mix it arrives in, and run a gentle balanced feed programme through active growth.
