Alocasia Loco: Rare Dwarf Wavy-Edged Collector's Houseplant
The Alocasia Loco is a rare dwarf Alocasia with quirky, surreal foliage and a well documented genetic heritage. Its uniquely rippled, wavy-edged leaves give it an almost animated appearance, in a mix of deep green and silvery hues with prominent veining that adds texture and depth.

This relatively new and uncommon cultivar appeals to growers who look for the unusual, combining dramatic foliage with a miniature growth habit that sets it apart from the larger Alocasia. Likely a somaclonal mutation of Alocasia 'Mandalay', which is itself a mutation of Alocasia 'Polly' (A. sanderiana Γ A. longiloba 'Watsoniana'), it carries a notable lineage. The genus originates in the tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia, where it grows in humid, shaded conditions. The Loco stays compact and small, which suits indoor spaces where room is limited.
