Alocasia "Bisma Platinum" Albo Variegated

Most albo Alocasia put white on a matte or velvet leaf, where the surface absorbs light and the variegation reads soft. "Bisma Platinum" does the opposite. The blade is long, narrow and hard-glossy, with venation sunk deep enough that the tissue between the veins rises into quilted pads. Cream on that surface does not sit quietly. It reflects, catches the light on every raised ridge, and drops into shadow in the sunken veins.

How the white lands

Some leaves split cleanly down the midrib, half deep green, half pure cream. Others break into fine green marbling scattered across a pale ground. A few come through almost entirely cream. This is chimeric sectoral variegation, so the white tissue carries no chlorophyll at all, and no two plants in this batch express the same way.

Why this one rarely surfaces

Chimeric albo cannot be guaranteed through tissue culture. Supply is limited to what comes true from variegated parent stock, not to production capacity, which is why a plant like this reaches the trade in ones and twos rather than in trays. This is genuinely among the scarcer white-variegated Alocasia in circulation.
